Philip Cooley

Associate Pastor, Youth Ministries

Pastor Phil deeply desires to lead the church in reflecting the wonderful diversity of God’s people and the city of Rancho Cordova.  Through teaching, relationship, and community outreach, Phil works hard towards communicating that all people are valuable because they are created by God and in His image.

Phil has served as Assistant Pastor at CNC since September 2014.  Prior to that he served in a variety of pastoral ministry at CNC going back to 2006.  His current duties include monthly preaching, and youth and young adult ministries.

Phil is married to his wife, Katherine.  He has three young children, two daughters and a son. He is well equipped to deal with all issues pertinent to children under five, ranging from “Does a ponytail or french braid pair best with this skirt and sweater combo?” to “Dad, brother put soggy Cheerios in his diaper.”

Phil received his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of California San Diego in 2002.  In 2014, he completed his Masters of Divinity from Bethel University.

Phil enjoys many different pursuits.  Ask him about his love for coffee roasting, brewing, and coffee drinking only if you have several days to spare. On the upside, he’ll probably offer you a free cup of coffee.

All in all, Phil seeks to bring his passion for Christ and his love for a good hearty laugh into every area of his ministry and his relationships.
