How to Study the Bible

Led by Ken Cooley

The Bible is the portrait of Jesus Christ. It’s where we can meet Jesus Christ and allow Him to speak to us. King David said “You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.” These “paths of life”, and the joy in His presence which can ensue from them, are to be found in the study of His Word.

This 3 week class will focus on reading the Bible for encouragement, challenge and life. It will be held January 8, 15 and 22, at 11:00.

New Testament Study: Paul’s Letter to the Colossians

Led by Ken Cooley

The greatest need of both the Church and individual believers in every era is to possess a scripturally-based, lofty view of Jesus Christ and His greatness. As we know and trust Him, our daily life is seen from a new perspective. Paul’s letter to the Colossians presents a sweeping view of the greatness of Christ in History and the world; the impact of that understanding then expresses itself in several specific settings as this letter to 1st century believers in a city Paul had not yet personally visited unfolds.

This 10 week study (January 29 to April 1) will be led by Ken Cooley. It will meet on Sundays at 11:00. Bring your Bible.

Uncovering the Mystery of the Bible

We have a book. It’s called the Bible. It is very important to us. From it we get direction for our lives. From it we judge what is right and wrong. And from it we develop our ideas about God, prayer, and eternal life. So why do we believe it? How did it come about? How should we interpret it? Many Christians carry these questions around in their minds but they never get answered.

This new small group may help. In this class we will explore the answers to these questions and many more. Be prepared to take notes and bring your thinking cap. This group will be taught by Ron Stilwell. Ron has a Master’s Degree in theology and has been a pastor, evangelist and Bible school teacher.

Uncovering the Mystery of the Bible will meet on Sundays at 9:30 in room 8, beginning June 19.
