We also need one more hostess. If you are interested, contact Michelle or the office.

Coming in February

Walking for a Good Cause

 By LaRee Thomason

Women’s Ministry is putting together a team for Relay for Life, a 24 hour walk. “The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease” (relayforlife.org website).

It will be in Rancho Cordova at Mills Middle School on October 1.

We would love to have 24 people (male or female) join us to make this happen. If interested, put your name on the signup sheet in Rudat Hall to walk for an hour. The cost is $6.25 per time slot. All the money goes to Relay for Life.

I know that I can do without an Iced Coffee for a week to put that money to a good cause. I challenge you to do the same and let’s make a difference. If you would like more information on this, please contact any one on the Women’s Ministry Team or call Pastor Susan at 635-5992.

Secret Sister Reveal Party

For all those who have been waiting these many months to find out who your Secret Sister is – the wait will soon be over. The Reveal Brunch will be held on Saturday morning, September 17, at 10 am.

Please bring a brunch dish and a reveal present for your Secret Sister. Please continue to pray for her until then and the postcard with details will be in your mailboxes soon.

Women's Home Group Starting In August

Join us Friday August 5, 2011, 6-8pm for our first potluck. We will be having a salad bar theme.

For further information call Debora at 858-1770.

Womens Retreat Brochure 2011-1

Five Reasons Women's Retreat is a Bargain!

By Pastor Susan Wright

1. How much is it and what do you get for the money?

A. Women’s Retreat 2011 is $180.00. It is 2 nights and 3 days in Tahoe Lodge, Zephyr Point. The rooms are hotel style and have fresh sheets, plenty of hot water, and a bed for each woman. The majority of the rooms sleep 2. Check in is 4 pm on Friday.

2. Anything else?

A. You get six meals: Friday night dinner, 3 meals on Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday. There will also be snack provided on Saturday afternoon and evening. If you have food requests (like vegan or lactose-intolerant), the kitchen will accommodate you. Be sure to mark that on the registration form.

3. Is that it?

A. Of course not! The teaching and worship time will be top notch. This year we’ll hear 4 women share how God was their strength in various aspects of their lives and how you can have the same. As always the schedule is not jam-packed, so you’ll have some free time too.

4. That’s a lot for $180.00. That’s it, right?

A. No way! Each woman will also receive a notebook that has lots of room for note-taking, exercises for quiet time, and resources to continue the learning once home.

5. Wow! Surely this is it?

A. Oh, no. The Women’s Ministry Team always spoils each attendee with a bed treat. This secret item is different every year. The only way to get one of these gems is to attend the Retreat.

Q. Count me in! How do I sign up for the Women’s Retreat this coming June 10-13?

A. Fill out a registration form which is located on the bookcase by the Women’s Ministry Bulletin Board. You can also download a form by clicking on the link here. Turn it in with your deposit to the office of put it in an Offering Box. Do this today. The spots are limited.

If you have a question, contact Pastor Susan at susan@cnchurch.org or 635-5992 x14.
