• Do you like to listen to children read?
• Do you have ½ – 1 hour of open time during your week?

Then you could qualify to be a Reading Buddy at Cordova Lane Elementary. The students there love to read to adults so Robin Mitchum (our pastor’s wife and a second grade teacher) is setting up a partnership between Cordova Neighborhood and Cordova Lane.

All you would be asked to do is to read to or listen to one student at a time.  This one-on-one experience would help a child develop his/her accuracy and fluency and would be extremely valuable.

To participate you would need to fill out a volunteer application you can get from Robin and have a valid TB test on file with the school office.
